A Time to Build prepares the way for dreams to be fulfilled. We do this by developing projects and developing people that create community. We aim to lift the downtrodden and reach those without hope.

Building Projects

For more than 20 years, we’ve raised money to fund community projects in underdeveloped countries. We come alongside local organizations and help build projects and community infrastructure by providing necessary capital.

As we’ve worked with villages and community leaders in building projects, a new need became evident: ready access to clean water.

In many villages, women walk several miles, with water jugs, to pull water from unclean rivers, their only source to water. Pastors and other leaders have asked that we bring clean water to families by funding new bore wells.

Clean well water meets a physical need and opens the door for pastors to share the good news about the Living Water, Jesus. Because of this dual impact, funding new wells has become our primary project focus.

Building People

We educate and equip indigenous church leaders through training conferences that help them better serve their congregations and communities.

The result? Better leaders. Better churches. Better communities.

It started with a question: What would you do if you could do anything?

The answer: Give away a million dollars.

Our founder and CEO Jerry Willis didn’t have a million dollars but knew that with the help of others and with God’s favor, we might. That’s how A Time to Build got started.

Since 2003, we’ve invested more than $1.3 million USD in communities around the world—and more specifically, into water wells, orphanages, churches, and schools. Some were previously stalled projects that lacked funding. Others were dreams without the first dollar raised. We called upon friends, family, and business colleagues to help fund these needs.

And while we were fundraising and working in countries around the world, we saw more than just the tangible needs. We experienced spiritual and educational needs—up close and personal. So we added a second strategic focus: to help develop people.

Our entire focus is to lift up the downtrodden. To prepare the way for hope. And ultimately, to make way for others to know Jesus.
